Creek Stomp

This morning, we had an outing planned with a mom's group I am a part of. Part of the plan was to go wading in a creek in hopes of finding some interesting creatures. Xavier did this last year and loved it, so I was really excited to take Aubrey this year, too. It started off with meeting "Long Legs", an Eastern Box Turtle. So far, so good.

Then, we headed down to the creek. Xavier jumps right in and gets to work.

We're down at the creek bank, and Aubrey is poised and ready with net and bucket in hand.

Two steps into the water, the girl who jumped into the pool sans floaties cries and complains that she's wet.

She proceeded to spend most of the experience like this:

Until she just threw the bucket and net down in favor of picking her nose.

And sucking her thumb.

In her defense, she did throw up at dinner tonight, so maybe she was just not feeling well and was in a foul mood. But probably not. Oh well, enjoyment for 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
