Haiti Hits Home

We've seen the absolute destruction and devastation in Haiti right now. Normally, when I see something like this in the news so far away, it is easy for me to switch the channel when I've had enough. This tragedy is different for me. A college friend of mine is in Haiti and has yet to be heard from. She and her husband lived in Fondwa, Haiti for two years as missionaries. They are Methodist ministers here in Indiana now, but often go back to assist with the orphanage. She had just gotten to Haiti with a team of four others on Sunday. The place where she was staying is about 30 miles southwest from the epicenter of the quake. No one has heard from her team yet. Her husband and two small children, along with the rest of her family, friends, and congregation, are eagerly awaiting some kind of news, but communication is so difficult right now.
